Important: Compatibility depends on the exact TV model, mainboard, panel and Model Setting. Verify your hardware before flashing.

USB Recovery Procedure

1. Format a USB flash drive as FAT32.
2. Copy only the .enc firmware file to the root directory of the USB drive.
3. Disconnect the TV from the power outlet.
4. Insert the USB drive into the TV.
5. Press and hold the physical VOL− (Volume Down) button on the TV.
6. While holding VOL−, reconnect the TV to power.
7. Continue holding VOL− until the firmware update/recovery process begins.
8. Once the update starts, do not disconnect the TV from power and do not remove the USB drive until the process has completely finished.

If the Update Does Not Start

Some Toshiba mainboards can be very selective about USB flash drives. Try another USB drive, preferably an older and smaller 2 GB–8 GB USB drive formatted as FAT32.

Depending on the exact TV model, the firmware filename may also need to be renamed to match the model before the TV will recognize it.

The .enc file is intended for USB firmware recovery.

EEPROM or SPI flash dumps are different files intended for other repair procedures and should not be used as substitutes for the .enc USB firmware.

Always verify compatibility with the exact TV model, mainboard and panel before flashing.

Firmware flashing is performed at the user's own risk. Interrupting the update or using incompatible firmware may prevent the television from booting.
